Where To Find Early Heart Pieces In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom

Published

One of the biggest side quests in a Zelda game is finding Heart Pieces. When players defeat a boss, they will gain a full new heart for their health meter. In the field, there are Heart Pieces and four combined will equal one new heart of health. The same system is present in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and there are Heart Pieces scattered everywhere.

Some of them are easy to find, while others are trickier. Consequently, let’s go through eight Heart Piece locations to look out for in the early hours of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which will bestow players with two extra hearts of health so they can withstand stronger monsters.

Suthorn Beach

A Seaside Heart Piece

1st Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

This should be the first Heart Piece that players should go after in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It’s located on the Suthorn beach, which is the area players will arrive at after escaping from Hyrule Castle. It’s located on the far right side of the area among a collection of stone columns.

To get it, players should stack beds on top of each other to make a bridge. Hopefully, they copied that Echo within Hyrule Castle before leaving. If not, there are other ways to get the Heart Piece or players can come back later.

Suthorn Beach Cave

Break Boxes To Find Your Heart

After getting that Heart Piece on the beach, players should proceed through the cave that exists in this area. Inside they will easily find another Heart Piece trapped behind some wooden boxes. To get this one, players can drop a heavy object, like a rock, on top of each box.

This will break them and then to remove the rock, players just need to cancel their Echo by holding down ZR on the Switch controller. If players had some sort of fire power, they could burn the boxes as well, which is a tip worth noting for later.

Suthorn Village’s Shop

80 Rupees Is Steep For The Early Game

3rd Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

After getting away from the beach and its corresponding cave, players will come across their first town via Suthorn Village. It’s a punny name referencing the southern region of the Hyrule map. Puns aside, there is a shop selling a Heart Piece for 80 Rupees in the town square.

80 Rupees is not a lot in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but considering this is the beginning of the adventure, players may not have enough. Stick around this Suthorn region to hack away at grass and monsters until 80 Rupees can be obtained.

Suthorn Village Cave

Look Out For The Caromadillos

4th Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Just past Suthorn Village is a series of caves that are all worth exploring for various rewards. For Heart Piece enthusiasts, they should make a beeline for the second cave on the southern path. Inside, they will meet a rather clever monster, Caromadillo, which will roll into a ball and attack players like how Sonic attacks enemies in his games.

Defeat the Caromadillo by using Sea Urchin Echoes, copy the corpse for a new Echo, and then move through the cave to find the fourth Heart Piece. This will boost Zelda’s life by a full heart and begin the second act of this guide.

Slumber Dojo In Kakariko Village

Fight Through Two Monster Trials Expertly

That will be it for the Suthorn region for now, so it’s time to move north to Kakariko Village which is an iconic town within the Zelda series. At the west end of town, players will find the Slumber Dojo. If players complete both monster Echo trials expertly, they will be rewarded with smoothie ingredients along with a Heart Piece.

As long as players are in Kakariko Village, they may as well get an easy Fairy Bottle which can obviously be used to catch fairies, thus preserving Zelda’s precious life meter longer. Go to the woman by the Cucco pen will award players for completing her side quest,

Behind Hyrule Castle Town

Who Threw This Perfectly Good Heart Out?

6th Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Zelda is a wanted criminal in Hyrule Castle Town at the start of the campaign; however, once escaped, players can freely return and no one will say anything. It’s worth visiting this Echoes of Wisdom area since there are side quests along with a shop to visit.

Also, there is a secret on the outside of the north side of the castle walls. If players exit Hyrule Castle Town and head East, following the outline of the walls, they will eventually find a Heart Piece out in the open without any traps around.

Finding Acorns In Hyrule

This Guy Is Nuts

7th Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

There are not a lot of mini-games in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but there are a few to help with the pacing. One of them can be located outside of Kakariko Village to the North. A man is waiting there for Zelda to find his acorns.

Once players hand over the entrance fee, he will scatter his acorns and the timer will begin. If players manage to find them all well below the time limit, they will get a Heart Piece. This nameless acorn man will appear throughout the adventure, so always keep an eye out for him.

In A Grove Of Hyrule Trees

Don’t Be Stumped By This Find

8th Heart Piece map location in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

The last easy Heart Piece can be found southwest of Hyrule Castle Town. There’s a grove of trees surrounding what looks like an open area on the map. Inside players will find a Heart source resting on a stump, again, without any traps around.

This grove and placement could be a reference to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. There is a similar tree grove in that SNES classic wherein a boy will be playing a flute on a stump. It’s the start of a longer quest in that game which will not end with a Heart Piece, but it’s still worth mentioning for nostalgic Zelda fans.

GTA 6 Online Can’t Miss a Golden Opportunity to Carry Over a RDO Feature

A huge amount of pressure is already being placed on Grand Theft Auto 6 Online, and the game could surprisingly take one fun page out of RDO’s book.

Reddit user cat1nthedark shared a post with the game’s subreddit to celebrate their wedding. Cat1nthedark and their spouse met in Red Dead Online‘s beta back in 2018, where the two were members of a Red Dead posse together. Six years later, cat1nthedark is still friends with many of the same people, and wanted to share their happiness with other players at having tied the knot with their new partner for life. The two even paid tribute to how they met in choosing a venue for their marriage, as they tied the knot in Tombstone, Arizona, and a pair of their posse members even attended in real life. As the newlywed puts it, the couple were cowboys when they met, and cowboys when they married.

Reddit Users Share Congratulations with Newly Married Couple

As one might expect, fellow players have been coming out of the woodwork to share their congratulations with the newlyweds. Many thought it was cool that they met their life partner by complete chance via a video game like Red Dead Online. Many of the commenters celebrated and made jokes with ties to the game, like suggesting that the new couple should have had their honeymoon in Tahiti. Others said that the two clearly had some “God damned faith,” and that this was all part of the “God damned plan,” referencing some iconic memed lines from Red Dead Redemption 2‘s singleplayer components. Another fan said that Red Dead Online wasn’t the only Rockstar title to help two people meet like this, noting that they met their own spouse in Grand Theft Auto Online under similar circumstances.

While a lot of players cross paths all the time in games without making any connections, it’s neat to see gamers finding partners in their favorite titles. With any luck, the new couple will have a long and happy marriage playing lots of games together.
