Best Isekai Anime With Epic Quests To Save The World

Published

No true Fantasy trope could be complete without the sacred quest to slay the evil bad guy and protect the kingdom (or the world) from destruction. From prophecies that forecast a 100% probability of demon lords razing the lands to worldwide cataclysms that cannot be stopped unless the heroes find the cause and fix it.

So, if you feel the itch for watching one of such stories, this list has some of the best Isekai Anime with epic quests to save the world as part of their main storyline. Fans will surely appreaciate these stories, with great characters, worldbuilding, and fantastic designs that result in some of the most epic combat scenes in anime.

5 Familiar Of Zero

Girl-Summons-Boy Story, Sends Him To Save The World

Underneath all that obnoxious (and often commonly seen in Isekai) fan service, Familiar of Zero remains one of the best built “save the world” plots in modern Isekai. Released 18 years ago, this Isekai anime is about to enter the range of the classics, but luckily for fans of the genre, it is still available in several streaming platforms. From the get go, the story revolves around Louise and her strange familiar summoned from another world: Saito. The latter is just a common every day school boy (allegedly a dropout) who is tremendously fixated with girls, in the least healthy way.

Forgotten Heroes In Isekai Anime

There’s a lot of isekai anime out there, and it was inevitable that quite a few heroes and heroines became forgotten over time.

But, and here’s where the plot makes a twist, he is the prophesized Gandarv (yes, the author took some liberties) and carries its mark, which allows him to basically use any weapon (or weaponized vehicle) like an expert. This power will be the main spark for Louise and Saito’s journey to save the world from destruction caused by political turmoil and conspiracies. Basically is a Man vs. Man conflict with the intervention of chosen heroes that need to save the world.

4 A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special

A Reverse Isekai, Its MC Only Wants To Save The World

A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is a reverse Isekai, and to avoid absolute spoilers, we will leave it at that. But what readers need to be aware of, if they’re looking for an Isekai anime where the main characters are set on a quest to save the world, is that Desir’s story diverts a little bit from that premise. He is a returner, that means, he has already tried to save the world and lost, thus, in his second try, he will do his best to protect those he saw dying in his past life.

This anime is based on a manhwa, and its art-style as well as storytelling is significantly different to what fans of anime are used to. Nevertheless, it is quite a dynamic and wholesome tale of love, loss, and friendship. And of course, all the things we see in fantasy anime: magic, demons, a lot of great military tacticians (since the main storyline deals with a full scale war against an anarchist group called the Outers) and with impeccable worldbuilding to boot.

3 The Rising Of The Shield Hero

The Only Responsible Hero Is The One Trying To Save The World

One of the hits of the last 10 years, The Rising of The Shield Hero has everything it needs to become one of the most popular animes of all times. Forcefully summoned to another world, Iwatami Naofumi needs to deal with the prejudice and disrespect of entitled nobles from the get go, and even worse: He is then falsely accused and exiled, left for dead in a hostile world. But Naofumi, as it turns out to be, slowly but steadily goes helping the inhabitants of that ungrateful world, with the helping hand of his vassals Raphtalia and Filo.

This is a story about revenge turned into duty, and disrespect turned into absolute admiration: not for nothin is called “The Rising” since well, it is basically the “rise from the bottom to the top of the world,” but instead of an edgelord like the one found in Arifureta you get a wholesome, sometimes a little rough on the edges, good fellow that is capable of turning the other cheek for the greater good. A true hero is not the one who is summoned for fame or fortune, but the one who sticks in the frontlines until the last second, saving lives.

2 The Faraway Paladin

The Perfect Example Of A Hero On A Sacred Mission

If there’s any Isekai anime out there that deserves praise for its faithfulness to traditional fantasy, that is The Faraway Paladin, and unlike many series that focus mainy on protagonists who are summoned to play some sort of game, in this particular case, the MC barely remebers his past life, and is solely focused on being a good and Faithful servant of the Goddess Of Lamplights.

Gracefeel has chosen William as his warrior and representative in the mortal world, a barely recognized Goddess, with little influence, so the hero needs to use all his wits and the help of others to survive the onslaught of slaying a dragon and saving the land. It is not just about saving the world, but overall, the quest of the champion, or the path of the one who serves a greater purpose. In many arcs to come, we will see William outgrow the simple legend of a Paladin in a God Forsaken land, and we will witness his metamorphosis into the savior he is destined to be.

1 The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated In Another World As An Aristocrat

Save The World By Killing The Hero, That Sounds Like A Twist Of Fate

  • Genres: Action, Isekai, Fantasy, Sword And Sorcery
  • N. Episodes: 12 (S1)
  • Where To Watch: Crunchyroll

One of Earth’s finest (assassins) gets a second chance in a new world, courtesy of a lovely deity who wants to wipe out all the “heroes” summoned by other deities that are going on a rampage ever since. He is placed in the nucleus of a formidable (and quite creepy) family of noble assassins who strive to be the best of the best.

Swimming in a pond of luxurious resources and able to take advantage of his past life memories, Lugh will try to save the world doing what he is best at: Assassination. Of course, he will not do it alone, since he will count with the help of his faithful servant Tarte, and the fallen heiress of another noble family Dia. Together, they will form the most skillful assassination squad this world has ever seen. May the Goddess have mercy of those poor heroes abusing their cheating skills, because Lugh and his crew won’t.

Soon after leaving the Nord Mines, players will return to the Grand Trad, waiting for the royal funeral. After the story cutscenes, the party will have to explore the Regalith Grand Cathedral Dungeon, the first main dungeon, which is quite long. After defeating the first Mausoleum boss, the party will be forced to retreat and return later.

On the second visit, players will come across locked gates on both sides shortly after they enter. Even after fully exploring the dungeon, these gates do not seem to budge, which might frustrate some players. For players confused, this guide offers information on how to open the Mausoleum locked gates in Metaphor ReFantazio.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – How To Cook

Cooking is one of the things players can do while on the gauntlet runner to get useful consumables; here’s how to do it.

Players will be disappointed to hear that there is no possible way to open those locked gates when exploring the dungeon the first time around. Defeat the major bosses in this dungeon and proceed through the story until you reach the second town, Martira. After completing a few bounties in July, you can talk to the Recruiter Dispatcher, who will mention a noble in Sunlemo Street. This noble requests that you retrieve an item from the Regalith Grand Cathedral Dungeon. This marks your second visit to the Mausoleum.

At the dungeon’s entrance, you can also grab the
Skullduggery
quest from the
Nervous Soldier
.

Upon entering the dungeon, you will find the straight path ahead blocked by soldiers telling you that the Cathedral is undergoing repairs. You will also notice that the previously locked gates are now open, allowing you to loot the items and proceed left to where the new area begins for the quest that you took. The closest items you can pick up are Holy Ossuary and Rusted Accessory. Don’t worry about another locked gate on your right; you can explore and circle around to reach that part of the dungeon.

Twitch Rival Kick May Start Paying Its Viewers

Published

on

Spread the love

Key Takeaways

  • Kick is developing a new currency to pay viewers for watching streams.
  • Details remain unclear regarding currency worth, earning frequency, and cash-out threshold.
  • Introduction of Kick Currency could attract new viewers and incentivize existing ones, potentially challenging Twitch.

Kick is allegedly working on a program that could pay viewers for watching streams. The news comes courtesy of a major streamer on the platform.

Amid Twitch still not being profitable, other streaming platforms are trying to take the platform’s place as the biggest streaming service. While Twitch is still extremely popular, some streamers have branched out to services like Kick and YouTube. Some streamers depart Twitch due to being banned, while others have received lucrative contract deals for leaving their usual streaming services. In any case, it seems Kick isn’t done yet trying to make its service the most appealing for streamers and viewers alike.

Twitch Will Prevent Kick Streamers from Crashing Future TwitchCons

Twitch addresses TwitchCon San Diego incidents involving Kick streamers, reaffirming its commitment to a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

According to Adin Ross, Kick is working on a new currency that will be given to viewers who spend time watching streams. During a stream, Ross said that the Kick Currency will work similar to Twitch’s Bits, but viewers will be able to benefit, not just who they’re viewing. It’s an interesting difference, since users have to spend money to get Bits on Twitch, and they’re used to further boost streamers, not the other way around. Ross notes that he would be able to “give a Kick” that users could then “cash out.” However, he goes on to note that “not everyone” will be paid to watch, so it’s not clear what would net a viewer this currency.

Kick’s New Currency

While this sounds promising in theory, a lot of questions remain unanswered about it at this time. For example, there’s no information on how much the Kick Currency would be worth, how often a viewer could earn it, what the threshold would be to cash out, and so on. Aside from encouraging viewers to tune into channels, though, it could also help Kick to complete with things like Twitch Drops, which can reward viewers with in-game items for watching for a set amount of time.

Kick continues to seek out content creators for its platform, but it remains to be seen if Twitch will lose its top spot as a streaming service. Google is also continuing to host major content creators on its own service while also trying to compete with the likes of TikTok with YouTube’s Shorts vertical video content. It will be interesting to see if Kick Currency draws more viewers to watch streams on its service. For those who already watch their favorite streamers on Kick, it’s something that will likely keep them tuning in once it’s implemented, which is good for the streamers there. Whether it’s enough to draw viewers in who don’t usually use Kick, however, remains to be seen.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s Dragon Wishes Explained

Published

on

Spread the love

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has a seemingly endless amount of content to pour through, and it can certainly become intimidating to new players. Developers recognized this concern, and have included a dedicated feature to make up for this. Dragon Wishes not only make use of the series’ namesake but are a core feature of progression in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

It would almost be strange if Dragon Ball‘s iconic MacGuffins didn’t find their way into Sparking Zero. Likewise, it’s certainly natural for their wish-granting abilities to lend any number of rewards. Dragon Wishes have a surprising amount of detail to unpack, and understanding the differences will help players get ahead in their journey to become the world’s strongest.

All Shenron, Porunga, and Super Shenron Wishes in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO

There are seven potential wishes in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, though players will first need to find the Dragon Balls before they can make them.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Dragon Wishes Boost Player Progression

Dragon Wishes Are a Limited Resource with Massive Potential

Dragon Wishes come in three different varieties, and this is perhaps the most important detail to delve into. After all, each host of the Dragon Wishes provides different rewards and demands different requirements. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is not an easy game to complete, and though Dragon Wishes can take time to obtain as well, they’re more than worth the wait.

While Shenron is undoubtedly the most iconic of the Eternal Dragons, he’s not the only one to be featured in the game. Shenron is flanked by Porunga and Super Shenron, with each of them serving a different purpose. The three dragons do share a few wishes, but players should still think carefully each time they collect the Dragon Balls.

Shenron, Porunga, and Super Shenron Dragon Wishes in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

For starters, it’s important to recognize the general Dragon Wishes that are shared among Shenron, Porunga, and Super Shenron. Although they may all grant a certain wish, the extent of the reward may vary wildly. As a rule of thumb, Super Shenron represents the maximum reward that players can obtain, though this naturally makes him the most difficult to reach.

Dragon Wishes shared by Shenron, Porunga, and Super Shenron:

  • I want more Zeni (Rewards players with a varying amount of in-game currency to spend in shops)
  • I want you to raise my Player Level (Rewards players with a sizable amount of experience)
  • I want more titles (Rewards players with cosmetic titles to use on their Player Cards)

Dragon Wishes available only to Shenron and Super Shenron:

  • I want new outfits (Rewards players with unique outfits exclusive to each dragon)

Dragon wishes available only to Porunga and Super Shenron:

  • I want ability items (Rewards players with a small selection of ability items to use in combat)

Increasing one’s Player Level is a universally positive wish, while the others mostly help to obtain exclusive cosmetics. Still, “I want more Zeni” perfectly illustrates the difference in rarity. Shenron offers 300,000 Zeni, Porunga only offers 120,000 Zeni, while Super Shenron rewards the player with a whopping 1,000,000 Zeni. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as exclusive wishes are by far the most enticing rewards in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

How to Farm Dragon Balls and Proficiency in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO

With this Dragon Ball farming method, Sparking! ZERO players will be summoning Shenron and Porunga in no time while also increasing their proficiency.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is Hiding its Best Rewards Behind Exclusive Dragon Wishes

The Most Rare Dragon Wishes in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

True to lore, Shenron might be considered the least powerful of the wish-granting dragons. Shenron’s unique wish, “I want to complete an Episode Battle,” rewards players with a Dragon Orb. Dragon Orbs can be spent to more easily beat a battle in the game’s story mode, but many players may not necessarily need to skip even Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero‘s most difficult battles.

Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that Porunga’s Wishes are actually somewhat less potent than Shenron’s best wishes. This is meant to offset Porunga’s unique feature, which is the ability to grant three wishes at once. This is a straightforward mechanic, and it is more than rewarding enough for players who manage to track down Porunga’s Dragon Balls.

Players may have a hard time tracking him down, but Super Shenron’s Wishes are more than worth the effort. Aside from being the most potent in general, his exclusive wish is even more exciting. Super Shenron provides a wish called “I want more characters,” in which players can obtain either Goku Black or Fused Zamasu. This is not only a fun reference to Dragon Ball Super‘s Goku Black Arc but also one of the few ways to unlock these immensely powerful fighters.

Where to Find the Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

Shenron, Porunga, and Super Shenron are all accessed through a different set of Dragon Balls. Just as their wishes are different, the requirements to obtain these Dragon Balls vary as well. Players who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero‘s Season Pass, as well as one free Shenron Summon. Meanwhile, players who purchased the Digital Ultimate Edition will receive both the Shenron Summon and a free Super Shenron Summon.

Past that point, players will need to work hard if they want to collect any given set of Dragon Balls. Dragon Balls will occasionally be obtained as rewards for completing battles, but these drop rates are hardly reliable. Thankfully, players who had early access to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero have already managed to map out most of the best ways to meet this challenge.

Shenron will likely be the first Dragon Wishes players can access, as his Dragon Balls can be easily obtained by completing missions through Whis’ Stamp Book and Zen-Oh’s Orders. Porunga isn’t so easy, as battles seem to be the only way to unlock his set of Dragon Balls. That said, grinding through offline tournaments does help to fast-track this process. Super Shenron’s Super Dragon Balls can be obtained by completing a full playthrough of Goku’s Episode Battles, ironically making them the most reliable to obtain.

It’s important to remember that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will receive DLC, and is therefore still an ongoing game. It’s more likely than not that more ways to obtain Dragon Balls will be released or discovered in the near future. Until then, players should continue to weigh their options and ensure they’re getting the best use out of the game’s best road for player progression.
