The best early Prime Day deal so far: a Blink Video Doorbell + Amazon Echo Pop for $35

Published

Amazon is serving a few Prime Day deals ahead of schedule to whet buyers’ appetites, including a big saving on two of its most popular home security devices. You can now buy the Blink Video Doorbell and Echo Pop at Amazon for $34.99 (was $109.98).

This deal is worth highlighting for both the significant price cut and its value for money. Even if you only want the Amazon Blink Video Doorbell or Echo Pop, this bundle costs less than either of the single items by itself. So you might as well get the bundle instead and have a complete home security starter kit.

The Blink Doorbell System + Amazon Echo Pop bundle typically costs over $100 and you’d be hard-pressed to find this large of a price cut at any other time of the year – even on Black Friday.

Note, though, that this deal is only for Amazon Prime members, so non-subscribers won’t be able to take advantage. However, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial to get access to this deal and every other offer that launches when Prime Day starts on July 16.

Incredible smart home bundle deal at Amazon

The Blink Video Doorbell boasts durability with its weather-resistant build and a battery that can last up to two years. It also supports 1080p HD video during the day and night that you can view from your smartphone.

The Blink Video Doorbell also includes a Sync Module 2 that lets Alexa answer your door and locally stores footage, which you can access with a USB drive. You can answer the Blink Video Doorbell from your Echo Pop or your smartphone.

The Echo Pop, just one of the home speakers in the Amazon Echo collection, complements the Blink Video Doorbell as a compact speaker that can pick up your voice from wherever you place it in your home.

The Echo Pop is ideal for small spaces where the Echo Dot would be too big and it costs less, although it has fewer features than its larger counterpart. In its Amazon Echo Pop review, TechRadar highlights its responsive microphone, stylish design, and affordable price.

Blink and Ring are two very similar home security systems, so it might be worth comparing the two before you commit to a deal. That said, Ring video doorbells often cost much more than the Blink – even when on sale.

If the Blink doesn’t satisfy you, TechRadar recommends plenty of other home security cameras from Arlo, Ring, Eufy, and Google in its best video doorbell list. Also be sure to check out our Amazon Echo deals for alternatives to the Echo Pop.

Predicting Palworld’s Debut Date on The PS5

Published

on

Spread the love

As one of the year’s biggest games, Palworld has staked its claim as a major 2024 release. Despite the game’s player base dropping since its viral launch, Palworld continues to be one of the most notable titles of the year. The game may still be in early access, but that hasn’t stopped developer Pocket Pair, Inc. from capitalizing on its success.

A recent deal with Sony has birthed Palworld Entertainment, a company set on expanding the Palworld name into merchandise and other points of media. The greater details of this business venture remain a mystery at the moment, but one of the main things that raised eyebrows was the exclusive deal with Sony. As of now, Palworld is only available on PC and Xbox, but that is bound to change. Gamers have been awaiting a Palworld port for PS5 since launch, and that may soon become reality.

Recent Palworld News Can Give Insight Into Its Eventual PS5 Debut

All Eyes on Tokyo Game Show

The list of the upcoming Tokyo Game Show’s lineup dropped some major Palworld news. This list in question mentions Palworld for the PS5, meaning an announcement is likely to happen at the event. This would be a huge update for the open world survival title, as it would be a completely new audience waiting on the horizon.

Tokyo Game Show runs from September 26 until September 29.

Two Launch Dates For Palworld on PS5 Feel Most Possible

Although there is no actual way to know until Pocket Pair, Inc. gives official confirmation, two timeframes seem highly likely. The first possible date is right after its rumored Tokyo Game Show announcement. Other developers have done this recently, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it kicked off a trend. After announcing it at the recent Gamescom event, Bethesda immediately launched its first vehicle for Starfield in a free update. This sorta seems like wishful thinking, but it can’t fully be discounted, especially since Palworld is clearly going to have some kind of presence at Tokyo Game Show.

The more grounded possibility is that Palworld will come to PS5 when it is out of early access. As of now, there is no official date for the game to be out of early access, but Pocket Pair, Inc. has confirmed in the past that the game will be in this state for at least a year. There are still many ways that Palworld can improve, and having the full product ready for a PS5 launch could be exciting. Palworld is only just a few months away from its first anniversary in January. If the game’s developers are on target, taking the game out of early access in early 2025 could be the perfect moment for a PS5 launch. Even if the game isn’t ready to leave early access, dropping the PS5 port on the one-year anniversary wouldn’t be too surprising.

Palworld’s Bold Plans For the Future

Between the deal with Sony and the mysterious lineup placement at Tokyo Game Show, Palworld‘s sights are set on the future. Since the game’s Sakurajima update over the summer, Palworld has found a new stride, and it will be exciting to see how Pocket Pair, Inc. continues to build that momentum. These theoretical PS5 port launch dates may not be set in stone, but they are some of the most likely possibilities at the moment.

Palworld made sure the year started off strong for smaller titles, and it’s always fun to see non-AAA games succeed against major releases. As Palworld continues to evolve, its eventual PS5 port will likely bring a brand-new surge in interest.

Legacy Characters in Resident Evil 9 Would Open the Door to One Opportunity

Published

on

Spread the love

Resident Evil 9 is on the horizon with Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi returning to helm the project. Since so few details have been made public about this upcoming entry, the rumor mill has been churning. Besides Resident Evil 9 supposedly shifting to an open-world structure for the first time in the series, another highly speculated aspect of the game has been its protagonist.

With Resident Evil Village wrapping up Ethan Winters’ narrative in a fairly definitive manner, Resident Evil 9 will almost certainly move on to a different protagonist — but not necessarily a new one. Many players are theorizing that this upcoming entry could see multiple fan favorite characters coming back into the fold. Alongside demand for characters like Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield to return to the series, one supposed leak suggested that Leon Kennedy is a playable protagonist in Resident Evil 9. A comeback for these iconic characters could provide the perfect opportunity for a popular feature from two of the franchise’s more unpopular games to also return: co-op.

If Legacy Resident Evil Characters Return, Co-op Should Too

Though the franchise has tried to produce fully multiplayer experiences with 2016’s Umbrella Corps and 2022’s Resident Evil RE:Verse, Resident Evil has proven time and time again that narrative campaigns are both a strength and a necessity for this series. However, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 — despite being critically unpopular — proved that an engaging middle ground could exist. Both games were buoyed by story modes that could be played entirely solo or as a two-player cooperative experience. Having multiple returning characters in the next mainline entry might give this co-op functionality a satisfying venue for redemption.

Why Co-op is a Valid Route for Resident Evil 9

A campaign with co-op integration could absolutely work for Resident Evil 9 from a gameplay perspective. A slower, more atmospheric game like Resident Evil 7 might not make as much sense for a social experience. However, the faster pacing and combat mechanics of Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake are incorporated in such a way that would allow for a second player to be thrown into the mix without being disruptive.

Even when taking the inherent horror of these games into consideration, Resident Evil 5 proved that two players fighting for their lives against infected hordes can certainly rack up some tension. As was the case with Resident Evil 5‘s co-op campaign, single-player would still be an option for those looking for a more immersive experience. The other co-op character could become a companion NPC. Though Resident Evil 5 struggled with its companion AI, the Resident Evil 4 remake proved Capcom could successfully implement sidekick followers like Ashley and Luis.

How Returning RE Characters Could Benefit From Co-op

If Resident Evil 9 does indeed bring back multiple fan favorite characters, a cooperative campaign would be an engaging way to do so. Seeing two previous protagonists team up for a new story lays the groundwork for some excellent fan service. Having characters like Leon and Jill working together, for example — not just in a cutscene but across an entire narrative — could provide unique character interactions, fun banter, and higher stakes for the plot. It also opens the door for a deeper exploration of previous games by allowing two characters with traumatic connections to the Raccoon City saga to dredge up and compare their experiences.

Additionally, by having the game be co-op, it ensures that fans get a satisfying and equitable amount of screentime for both characters. Not only that, but fans would then get to share in this experience by playing with each other. As a culmination of both the newest entries and the recent wave of remakes, Resident Evil 9 has the chance to give players that Infinity War-esque crossover that Resident Evil 6 attempted but failed to provide.
